How to register, merge and split stops

Download the lesson slides >

This lesson shows you how to log downtime directly from the shop floor in Factbird, using a tablet or PC for quick operator input. Stops are automatically detected by sensors, so operators only need to select the reason, either in real time or retrospectively.

You’ll learn how to merge multiple stops into one when downtime is caused by the same issue, ensuring the total time lost is accurately reflected. You’ll also see how to split a single stop into two or more parts to capture multiple causes with precise durations, giving you more detailed downtime reporting.

Comments and operator initials can be required for added context, improving the quality of your analytics.

What you’ll learn:

  • Logging downtime from the shop floor in real time or retrospectively.
  • Selecting and registering the correct stop cause.Merging multiple stops to reflect continuous downtime for one issue.
  • Splitting a single stop into multiple causes with assigned durations.
  • Adding comments and initials for better context in downtime records.
