Making a production shop floor paperless boosts efficiency, accuracy, and real-time visibility by switching from manual, paper-based methods to digital systems for handling work instructions, data capture, and performing quality checks.

We’ve already shown you our automated data capture and process control capabilities; now let’s take a look at Factbird’s Digital Guidance in the Connected Operations app, which helps standardize and digitize shop floor activities.

Using the Digital Form Builder, you can create SOPs, guides, checklists, and forms in just a few clicks, making them immediately available for frontline operations.

Examples include:

  • In-line quality checks
  • Batch changeover checklists
  • Step-by-step troubleshooting guides

Activities that were once managed with spreadsheets or paper can now be carried out digitally in Factbird.

Navigating Digital Guidance

To access Digital Guidance:

  1. Go to the Activities section from the main menu.
  2. Use the Activities page to view a list of all created activities with their title, description, and location, or to create new ones.
  3. Open the Reporting page to review historical records, including:
    • Pass/fail counts for activities

    • Detailed drill-downs for specific cases

By digitizing frontline activities with Factbird, you make work more consistent, reduce errors, and ensure operators always have clear, up-to-date guidance at their fingertips.
