Perform triggered Activities in Factbird

Download the lesson slides >

Once Activities are created in Factbird’s Connected Operations app, operators complete them directly from the shop floor.

Activities are triggered based on the rules set during creation, such as shift start, batch end, time intervals, or downtime events, and appear as prompts for the operator to act on.

Completing Activities from prompts

When an Activity is triggered, it appears in the Operator View dahboard, where operators spend most of their time.

  • For example, a shift start checklist might appear at the beginning of a shift. The operator simply clicks the checklist, confirms items such as safety checks and shift leader briefs, and submits it.
  • An in-line quality check might prompt the operator to enter a product weight, inspect shape or color, and confirm results before submitting.

This ensures critical checks are carried out consistently and recorded in the system.

Starting Activities manually

If an Activity has been set to allow manual start, operators can access it at any time by selecting Start activity. From there, they can choose from available Activities and complete one outside of its normal trigger.

Triggering Activities from downtime

Activities can also be linked to specific stop types. For example, if a product jam is registered, a related checklist can automatically appear.

Operators might see steps such as:

  1. Stop the machine.
  2. Remove the jam safely using gloves.
  3. Press the start button.

By linking Activities to downtime causes, Factbird provides real-time guidance so issues are handled safely and consistently.

With triggered Activities, operators receive timely prompts to complete checks, quality controls, or corrective actions, reducing variation between shifts and improving shop floor discipline.
