Start and stop production batches in Factbird

Download the lesson slides >

Once your batches are created in Factbird, operators can manually start and stop them on the shop floor. This ensures that all production data is linked to the correct batch for accurate tracking and reporting.

In short:

  • When a batch is running, it appears in green. All data from the line is automatically associated with that batch until it is stopped.
  • To stop a batch, operators click the stop button
  • They can then add comments and enter the amount of scrap produced in the batch. If a scrap sensor is installed, this information can be collected automatically; otherwise, it will need to be entered manually.
  • After stopping, the batch moves to the Done section of completed batches.
  • To start the next batch, operators select it from the list (sorted by planned start time) and click the start button to begin.

Factbird focuses on making this process as easy and user-friedly as possible to reduce the administrative burden on Operators so they can focus on their core roles.

By starting and stopping batches in Factbird, your team can capture accurate production data, including scrap and operator notes, for better batch-level analysis and OEE insights.
